Blog:

Jo and I are going to visit Bleecker Hall again on either the 20th or
the 21st. Rick didn't get to the Chester County Day open house there
last year, and the owners, Matt and Susan Horenkamp, generously offered
to show him the house the next time we were back in town. I spoke to
Susan tonight and set things up.

The big news she had is that they've torn out the handicap bathroom that
a previous owner had built into what I knew as the Dining Room,
originally the Library. It is a Library again. Also, the two remaining
stained glass windows from the Morning room have been restored and are
part of a built-in cabinet in the new Library. (A thousand curses on
the scoundrel who took that beautiful glass out of the Morning Room bay
window, and then SOLD one of them!)

I'll have pictures after we visit.

Renny

It was such fun to find your email in the inbox!

Every week, I have been trying to get the website back onto the top of my task list.  Hopefully you have pushed us back into motion.  John will be editing the family audio for the website.  We collected on recorder a fantastic set of stories from MaryEllen and from Anne Hall.  John has to get them into format and I am the bottleneck.  4th of July is coming up.  I will get them to john by then.  You will love the stories!

Ava Lee is our 'great great' in lots of ways.  She is as beautiful as her mother, Hillary, and grandmother and I know would have been your Aunt Lee's most precious jewel.  You were certainly one treasured by your Uncle Tom.

(your memory is not failing..  middle names are popular in our branch.  Did you know Aunt Lee was Lila Helen to the IRS?  Uncle Tom was "Willy" to his football team?  And Reba and Becky are totally interchangeable as is Mazie and MaryEllen.  Maybe we need an 'players card' for the website.  When I listen to stories, I confuse brothers/cousins:  'which Tommy?'  and worse, our uncles/grandfathers/cousins 'which John?')

Loved the web site.  I hadn't been there for awhile but was reminded to do so by Mary Ellen who I chatted with recently.  What a great sight.  Loved the pix of Ava who is Tom and Lee's great great?  How is that possible?  And seeing all the pictures.

How do I post news on the web sight?

Thanks for being the care taker for this sight.  Am I writing to Barbara or Ted?  The only Lee I knew was Aunt Lee.  Or am I forgetting something I should know, which I do regularly lately?

The House is getting nicer!

Power washed the back Lanai , bought a new water heater and put a few lights up on the garage in which the tops blew off - the lights not the garage.

Happy Easter

We were looking for my mother's "Joy of Cooking".  Instead, MaryEllen and I found 4 cookbooks that belonged to of Aunt Blanche (B. A. Hayes - Blanche Ashcom Hayes).  We are going to make split-pea soup tomorrow.  Recipe dates to 1927.

Have a wonderful Holiday!!

News from Ft. Myers

Anne and MaryEllen toured the Sanibel "Ding Darling Preserve" yesterday with Ted and I. The new tour bus is open air and the birds were wonderful. We visited Nathan's memorial at the Epicopal Church. And stopped into Anne's shoppe, "Noah's Ark". SO MANY people came to greet her. It was fun to be introduced as her family.

We recorded recipes and some stories with MaryEllen and Anne.

Wendy, Steve and Casey had us all to dinner. Bess is in Australia. Becky is finishing her graduate degree. Her field is Public Services and she has contributed much time and efforts as a volunteer with the American Diabetes Association. CASEY HAS HER DRIVERS PERMIT! She has promised to visit Colorado to snowboad sometime soon.

The Wassermans plan to visit with Sarah in California this summer so I will get to see them also when they pass through the Rockies. It is fun to have such a wonderful family.

Love to all!!

Aunt Mazie is in Florida

Ted and I have been visiting with Aunt Mazie for the past week.  We have had a great time catching up on the 'details' of the stories Uncle Tom (our Dad) told of the kids at BleeckerHall.

Tomorrow, the 3 of us head for Fort Myers.  We will bring the tape recorder and with Aunt Anne's help, we should have much to share with you on our website.

Love to you all!!
